چکیده: 

This paper proposed a new converter topology to drive induction motors. The proposed topology can boost the DC link input voltage in case of DC link voltage shortage without any additional converter. This converter employs two additional switches and one capacitor in each phase compared to conventional converters. Moreover, this new topology brings additional advantages such as less torque and current ripples and lower switching loss. After a discussion of the basic principles of operation, the dynamics of the converter is developed for control purposes.Simulation results are given to illustrate the associated advantages of the proposed converter.

چکیده: 

یک کنترل کننده درایو با هدف کاهش مصرف انرژی برای موتورهای القایی طراحی شده است. کنترل کننده همواره طوری عمل می کند که گشتاور مورد نیاز موتور را که یکی از ورودی های مرجع کنترل کننده است، با کمترین توان ورودی تولید کند. گشتاور از روی فلوی مغناطیسی روتور و مولفه جریان گشتاورساز استاتور استخراج شده و به سیستم کنترل، اعمال می گردد. به منظور صرفه جویی انرژی، مرجع جریان مغناطیس کنندگی بر پایه مرجع جریان گشتاورساز طوری محاسبه می شود که گشتاور تولیدی همواره در حداکثر بازده تولید شود. وجود یک رگولاتور جریان، تطابق جریان مغناطیس کنندگی واقعی با مقدار مرجع آن را تضمین می کند و موجب می شود که موتور همواره، حتی در لحظات گذرا و صرف نظر از بار اعمالی، گشتاوری پایدار تولید کند. نتایج شبیه سازی نشان می دهد که استفاده از این کنترل کننده برای کاربردهایی نظیر آسانسور و خودروهای برقی مناسب می باشد.

چکیده: 

In this paper, simultaneous estimation of the rotor speed and time constant estimation for a voltage source inverter–fed induction motor drive is discussed. Application of the Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) on the vector controlling of an induction motor drive in the rotor-flux-oriented reference frame is examined. Furthermore, to eliminate the offset error caused by the change in the stator resistance, a fuzzy resistance is also designed.

This paper proposes a new control algorithm for a matrix converter (MC) induction motor drive system. First, a new switching strategy, which applies a back-propagation neural network to adjust a pseudo dc bus voltage, is proposed to reduce the current harmonics of the induction motor. Next, a two-degree-of-freedom controller is proposed to improve the system performance. The controller design algorithm can be applied in an adjustable speed control system and a position control system to obtain good transient responses and good load disturbance rejection abilities. The implementation of this kind of controller is only possible by using a high-speed digital signal processor. In this paper, all the control loops, including current-loop, speed-loop, and position-loop are implemented by TMS320C6711 digital signal processor. Several experimental results are shown to validate the theoretical analysis.

Voltage source inverters (VSIs) based on insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) may face various faults that can affect the operation and safety of the entire electric drive system. To enhance the reliability of the drive system, it is crucial to develop an accurate fault diagnosis (FD) method and increase fault tolerance control (FTC) capabilities. This paper provides a novel FTC strategy for IGBT open circuit fault (OCF) in induction motor (IM) drives. The proposed FTC strategy includes a fault diagnosis algorithm and inverter reconfiguration. A three-phase current-based diagnosis method (FD) is adopted in this research, where the average absolute value of the normalized currents is used to extract fault detection variables. The developed FD method does not need any extra sensors and provides fast diagnosis time, which is equivalent to almost 25-30% of the phase current’s fundamental cycle. To accomplish satisfactory post-fault operation of the IM drive, a four-leg inverter topology is employed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed fault-tolerant drive and diagnosis method is proven through various simulation results.

Background and Objectives: Linear Induction Motors (LIMs) are favorite machines utilized in various industrial applications. But, due to the end effect phenomena, control of a LIM drive is more complicated than rotational machine drives. Therefore, selecting the proper control strategy for a LIM drive has been a significant challenge for the researchers.Methods: This paper concentrates on a new Model Predictive Control (MPC) of LIM drives which considers the end effect.Accordingly, the discrete-time model of the LIM with end effect is extracted, and the required flowchart used for the MPC of LIM drive has been presented in this paper.Results: To study the effectiveness of the suggested strategy, simulation results of a LIM drive with MPC are presented and compared to the traditional Indirect Field Oriented Control (IFOC) of LIM drive. Simulations have been carried out using Matlab. The end effect has been considered in the LIM model and control strategies.Conclusion: Simulation results validate that the suggested MPC of LIM drive yields excellent dynamic characteristics such as fast speed response with no overshoot. Moreover, in comparison to the traditional IFOC method, the suggested MPC strategy offers lower current ripple and lower electromagnetic force ripple, and therefore, it is suitable for industrial drive applications.

In the new advanced drive schemes, identification and modeling of the load complex characteristics can play an important role to predict the dynamic performance of the proposed control strategy. The novelty of this paper consists in the classification of the different types of the nonlinear loads which the electrical drive systems may encounter. In this study, nonlinear components of mechanical loads are divided into two groups. The first type includes nonlinear phenomenon caused by the nature of load which is predictable and identifiable. Another type of loads nonlinear characteristic happens due to the occurrence of a mechanical fault in motor, coupling or load parts. Generally, this type of non-intended nonlinear effect is not predictable and often occurs in the installation and operation stage of the drive system utilization. In this paper, the performance of an induction servo drive system has been simulated under the influence of different types of non-linear industrial loads.

This paper presents the speed control scheme of indirect vector controlled of induction motor (IM) drive. Voltage source inverter type space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) is used for PWM controlling scheme. Regarding the capabilities and potentials of intelligent based on Fuzzy logic in the control of non-linear and complex systems, the Fuzzy PID controllers is developed for controlling the speed, torque, and flux of an IM. The performances of the proposed FLC-based IM drives are investigated and compared to those obtained from the conventional proportional-integral (PI) controller-based drives both simulated at different dynamic operating conditions such as step change in command speed, load change, and increase in the rotor resistance. The comparative results show that the FLC is more robust, found to be a suitable replacement of the conventional PI controller for the high-performance industrial drive applications.
